The society now has formally established an Opera Unit through the special funding by Rtd. Gen. Theophilus Y. Danjuma. This also gave birth to the designation of Head of Opera. Before this formal establishment of Opera Unit there is over 10 years of opera performances in the Society. The first opera, La Traviata, Act. 1, performance was in 2011 by the MUSON Diploma School of Music directed by Joseph Oparamanuike. Sir Emeka Nwokedi and Mr. Thomas Kanitz have also contributed to the growth of Opera in Society.
